Loft Conversions | Finding the Right Style
The type of home you own will dictate the kinds of conversion you can choose. Conversions come in 4 main designs, and our builders excel at them all.
Rooflight Conversions – With little by way of structural changes, this is the simplest and cheapest solution. Our team installs rooflights into the slope of your existing roof. This turns your dark, musty loft into a bright, vibrant space.
Our building company can then reinforce the floors, add insulation and carry out plumbing and electrical work – if needed – to create new living space with a fast turnaround.
Dormer Conversions – From Epsom to Surbiton to Sevenoaks, these loft conversions are the most popular style in the UK. Our builders construct a box-like extension that rises vertically out of your current roof. This creates a new room with ample floor space and a horizontal ceiling.
Externally, you can choose between flat-roofed and gabled dormers.
Hip-to-Gable Conversions – This design is perfect for end-of-terrace, semi-detached and detached properties. The process involves removing one or more slants at the side of your roof. We then extend the exterior wall up to meet the restructured roof at a right angle.
With these loft conversions, our building company creates significant headroom and floorspace.
Mansard Conversions – Constructed at the rear of properties in South East locations like Epsom and Surbiton, our builders extend the roof backward. This creates a new flat roof complete with a raised back wall. This new wall slopes inward at a 72 degree angle.
This process involves significant building work to restructure the roof.
